We here at The Oakdale always try to stay politically neutral. Unless, any politician wants to chip in a little ad cash, then we will do our part.

Our votes can be bought, we aren’t above that.

But, we would like to stress to you the importance of getting out and voting tomorrow. Voting in local elections is just as, if not more, important than voting in the Presidential elections. The people you are voting for tomorrow control the flow of the County. Even though it is just a primary, it’s important to get the right people in position for the final Battle Royal in November.

I will not tell you that if you don’t vote you have no right to complain. Of course you can still complain. But, it makes you a scum bag and nobody likes a scum bag.

If that doesn’t motivate you, they also hand out really cool “I Voted” stickers. All your friends will be posting pictures of their sticker on social media and you don’t want to miss out on that action. People will notice that you didn’t post the picture of your sticker, then they will talk. You live in Logan County, you know what happens when people start talking. Before long you will be exiled. You may be forced to gather your family in the night and head to Butler County and nobody wants that. They don’t have a Wal-Mart, ya know?

Speaking of those stickers, isn’t it time they had a face lift? They’ve been the exact same for years. Maybe put Uncle Sam on there flexing in a “I Love Freedom” tank top? Just a thought.

The line may be long, so I recommend you go ahead and download the latest episode of our podcast, Barley Pop Sports, to listen to while waiting in line. We are available on iTunes and Google Play. #Plug

Don’t be a scum bag, Don’t get exiled. Get out and vote.
