It was all right there in the palms of our hands. Rory. Spieth. Fowler. We were going to get what we deserved, a Masters Champion we could be proud of. We have suffered through the past two years with the likes of Danny Willett and Sergio Garcia, but this year we would get our guy. Either a member of the Spring Break Squad or a career grand slam.

But here comes mouth breathing Patrick Reed.

It’s not that I hate Patrick Reed. I don’t. But, I’m learning to. His Ryder Cup shenanigans are legendary and I am thankful. But, I don’t need this guy winning majors. I need Fowler, Tiger, Rory, Spieth.

Not Reed.

Watching Reed try to think on the course was painful. His mouth never closed and it looked like he was trying to avoid shitting his pants the whole day. Not metaphorically shitting his pants, like he was nervous or whatever, he looked like he ate a Crave Case the night before and them puppies were working on him immediately after he tee’d off.

Jordan tried. He birdied half the damn holes on the course today before getting his only bogey on 18 to finish -8 on the day and -13 overall.

Rory choked. We were hoping for back and forth bangers between Rory and Reed but Rory never showed up. He finished the day at +2 and T5 with a overall of -9.

Fowler came up short, again. For the eighth time Ricky finished in the top five at a major. It was his third time finishing second. But once again he goes home thinking “what if”.

We are stuck with Reed. I guess I’ll get use to it.

Final Thoughts for Masters:

  • Our guy, our hero, Kiradech Aphibarnrat finished T44 at four over. Say what you will, but the only day he played awful was Thursday. Remember his name. We won’t let you forget anyway.
  • Tiger was exposed. The process is for from complete but it was just nice to see him make the weekend.
  • The Players Championship is a little over a month away. We can make it.

NHL Playoffs start next week. See you in Smashville.
